Navigating the various villager storylines in Disney Dreamlight Valley often leads players to essential upgrades for their exploration tools. Among these character missions, Scar's level seven quest offers a key breakthrough for clearing major environmental obstacles across the Sunlit Plateau. Completing this objective allows players to expand their accessible territory and seamlessly connect restricted areas of the map.
Starting Prerequisites and Finding Old Bones
Before launching into the main objective, players must raise Scar's friendship level to seven and complete his previous mission titled Breaking Bones. Once these conditions are met, initiating a conversation with Scar points you toward Mother Gothel for expert advice. She reveals that upgrading your Royal Shovel requires special materials, including Old Bones located within the Sunlit Plateau mines.
Entering the mines requires navigating through the left passage and following the subterranean tunnels to find the glowing item. Along with the bone fragment, players need to gather 10 Purified Night Shards at a crafting station to move forward. Handing these items over prepares the foundation for the next stage of the ritual.
Transforming the Bones and Growing the Flower
After speaking with Scar, you must head into his cave in the Sunlit Plateau to find the volcanic geyser. Placing the Old Bones inside the geyser turns them into ashes that can be harvested from the ground. You then need to plant these ashes like seeds anywhere in the Sunlit Plateau biome.
To accelerate the growth process, crafting an Even More Miraculous Growth Elixir provides an instant result. This special elixir requires Vitalys Crystals, Rich Soil, and Dreamlight gathered from completing daily village tasks. Applying the elixir to your watering can allows the Flower of Bones to bloom instantly so it can be harvested.
Upgrading the Shovel and Clearing the Plateau
With the Flower of Bones in hand, head to any crafting bench to construct the Roaring Shovel Head under the Potion and Enchantment tab. Accessing your inventory and using the crafted item automatically upgrades your Royal Shovel. This upgraded tool empowers you to break down the massive wildebeest bones that block key pathways.
Travel over to the wooden bridge on the Sunlit Plateau to test your newly upgraded tool on the large bone clusters. Removing three of these large obstacles permanently opens up the rest of the biome for easy navigation. Return to Scar one last time to conclude the mission and claim your experience rewards.
